Cozy British Pubs

At every turn in London, there is a welcoming pub. The traditional ones do not play music or have televisions and are set up like living rooms, complete with comfortable seating, lamps and a newspaper selection. Whole families, neighbors and passers-by of all ages stop in throughout the day. Here, socializing and relaxing is the focus. All have a pleasing array of beers and ciders on tap and most serve traditional British fare.

We stopped into a number of pubs including one of the oldest in town, The Lamb, which still has snob screens above the bar. Snob screens, which were popular in the late 1800’s, were frosted glass panels that concealed the customer’s identity from the publican.
