Little Red, Southampton, NY
A new bistro with a covered outdoor patio, Little Red has an appealing New American menu featuring basic, local dishes. I had a lobster roll, which contained a satisfying amount of meat and was served on an untoasted roll with a side of thick, hand-cut chips. A British dining companion noted that the linguini with cockles, although fine, is a misnomer as it is really just made with clams. Two others in my party each ordered the roast chicken, which arrived with a loose salad heaped atop it, and were left starving after consuming the tiny though tasty portion. Conclusion: worth a visit, just skip the chicken if you’re hungry.
