Moti Mahal

Moti Mahal is currently the top Indian restaurant in London for good reason: the traditional-style food is so good you will want to eat there every night. This restaurant opened in 2005 and is the offspring of the Delhi restaurant of the same name. The original restaurant, which opened in 1959, was the first to bring a tandoor oven into a commercial kitchen.

The menu is divided into “On the Grand Trunk Road” and “Off the Grand Trunk Road,” referring to the ancient 2500-km highway that runs through India. The Delhi-born chef traveled the GT Road, which winds through forgotten lands, to concoct the dishes that capture the spices and essence of the recipes of rural India.
