You and 79,999 other music fans, frites, beer, sunshine…what could be better?
Held annually since 1974, this 4-day music festival has grown to one of Europe’s largest. Until the 1990’s, it mostly attracted Flemish attendees, but has recently grown more international in scope to include Dutch, British and Australian contingents. And at least two American tourists, of course. The line-up is a mix of well-known (almost exclusively British and American) artists and local Belgian acts. If you find yourself near Brussels and this is going on, go.
Day Three Main Stage Line-up: Rival Sons, The Gaslight Anthem, Bruno Mars, Elbow, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Coldplay
Day Two Main Stage Line-up: Mona, My Chemical Romance, Triggerfinger, White Lies, The National, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Arsenal. I thought Arctic Monkeys would be the hit, but the crowd went crazy for Kings of Leon, who appeared for their fifth year in a row.Tweet
