A nice father-daughter moment in front of Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop at 66 Perry Street, though in the show she lived on the Upper East Side
Approximately 50 million people visit New York City each year. I think a good portion of the young females end up in the West Village, home of the Friends gang and Carrie Bradshaw.
My path to lunch was clogged by a hoard of women milling about on the sidewalk, gaping at the real estate. Thanks, Hollywood! So I decided to photograph them, given they were as much of a spectacle as the fictionalized residences.
Lest I sound curmudgeonly, I want to point out that I think it’s great that these shows (Friends ran from 1994-2004 and Sex and the City ran from 1998-2004) have such staying power. They formed background noise and provided cultural references to my formative adult-ish years, too! I’m just glad I don’t live in either of these buildings…
